Its more than adequate for the price

I dont know what people are expecting for this price. Its not going to be perfect. If it was, they'd charge more. Here, you get a place for 6 people to congregate, eat and sleep with close amenities. Overall, good value for the dollar

Slechte accommodatie

Inchecken was slecht. Ik hoorde niks dus bericht gestuurd. Ze hadden ons niet in de agenda staan. We kregen wel de Wifi code . Verder niks. Geen verontschuldiging. De sleutel stond in de deur dus konden we wel naar binnen. Het huis was vies, de was draaide, dus zelf alles in droger gedaan. De bedden waren nog vies. Dus alles zelf gewassen en opgemaakt. Op het aanrecht stond de afwas van de vorige bewoners. Buiten lag overal nog afval. Ook opgeruimd.Zeker een afrader!

I would not recommend and would not stay again! Cleanliness and house maintenance needs a lot of work! The house is so humid that the kitchen floor feels wet! Earwigs everywhere. The house could use dehumidifiers. The 2 front facing windows do not lock! I tried Turing the knob up and down and it does not catch to anything! Host said he would “try to send someone” but never did and did not appear very concerned when I shared this with him, so I assume he already knew or does not care. The windows are low to the ground and big enough that anyone could easily enter the home! I felt unsafe leaving my children in these bedrooms alone so we had to stay each in a room with them. Beds are hard as rock! Never slept on a harder mattress! Pros is the backyard is beautiful and location is very convenient for Calypso and other amenities. I’m not really one to leave bad reviews but I think the windows and humidity needed to be shared! I would not stay again and had to convince myself not to cancel the remaining 2 nights after just the first one.

Friendly host great location

Although we brought our toddler's old Nuna to sleep in, there was room to place the Vrbo mattress on the floor to use as a toddler bed. If your child needs darkness to sleep, I recommend bringing blackout curtains because the store light from across the street is fairly bright. If you have a mobile toddler, bring a pressure mounted baby gate for the basement entrance in-between the kitchen and living room. Pleasantly surprised to find big toys and plush animals in the kid's room. Kid's room has 2 outlets, we moved the dressers in front to block access. The best part of the property was the backyard because the sun hits the patio and yard in the morning. We enjoyed walking around the spacious yard and basking in the sunshine with Timmy's (from across the street).

Review

Cleaniliness more or less ok, dishwasher was in the listing, but doesnt exist. The Equipment/interior seems old and used and is not in a good condition. The stairway to the basement, which is not part of the listing, is in the middle of the room and not secured. Children or elder people could easily fall down.

Host is responsive and quick to deliver additional supplies when requested, also msg us to make sure things are ok. The place has the basic kitchen supplies and beddings etc as listed. Location is convenient, 30 mins from Ottawa, stores/restaurants within walking distance. The house itself is a disappointment though. There is false advertising! The listing indicates 2 bathroom, but it is only 1.5 bathroom. It only has one full bathroom, the other washroom is in the basement in an unfinished corner of the house! A toilet and a stained basement utility sink are there but no shower/bath. A full garbage bag was left in that washroom, as well as other cleaning supplies strewed all over. The AC is only available in the living room and not inside bedrooms, and ceiling fan was finicky in one of the bedroom. The dishwasher in the listing is not there! The house is best described as amateur DIY renovation in progress! Poor craftsmanship throughout - patchy paint, unlevelled doors, cracked tiles, wobbly kitchen island, holes in wall, vents cover with no central ventilation system in placed, peeling vinyl flooring, etc. There are multiple reno mistakes that would make it unsafe for children - sharp screw sticking out from the washroom cabinet, bathroom mirror leaning but not secured on the wall. The house gives a feeling of an unfinished reno project with used appliances/furnitures/cabinets/building supplies/kitchen supplies thrown in to make it a guest house; livable but not comfy

Great place to stay. Everything you could need was available. Very comfortable. So many businesses are right across the street, extremely convenient. I believe the home is going through some renovations so there was a few areas of dust but 100% not a problem. Will definitely book again!! :)

Correct

Vraiment pas aussi propre que ce que je m’attendais. Le dessus de la hotte de poêle, l’extérieur du réfrigérateur, la porte garde robe en miroir dans l’entrée, les fenêtres (les rainures en bas des fenêtres), ainsi que la plupart des surfaces (stores horizontaux, meuble tv, objets décos, etc) étaient très poussiéreux/crasseux/collantes. Par contre, les lavabos, toilette, douche, draps, matelas et oreillers, intérieur du frigo et du micro-onde, comptoir de cuisine et de salle de bain étaient propres. Les sacs poubelles et le recyclage s’accumulaient à l’extérieur La maison a besoin de sérieuses réparations, mais tout est fonctionnel. Il n’y a pas de toiles ou de rideaux obscurcissants dans une des chambres, donc il y fait très clair jusqu’à ce que le soleil se couche (seulement un rideau translucide). Les matelas sont très fermes. L’hôte est très réactif, l’ouvre boite était brisé et nous en avons eu un nouveau le lendemain matin. C’est apprécié, bonne communication avec lui. La maison est très très bien située, proche de tout (belle épicerie, pharmacie, restos, régie des alcool, station service). Très proche de Calypso aquatique Park, où nous avons passé les deux journées de notre séjour. Donc en résumé, maison correct pour manger se laver et dormir si vous n’êtes pas trop scrupuleux sur la propreté…

We enjoyed our stay. Our goal was to visit Ottawa. The house is well furnished with the things we needed. Also, right across the street from a grocery store, gas station and restaurants

Contacting property manager

We locked ourselves out of the house, with only a cell phone to use. Contacting the prop mgr was very difficult and frustrating . We asked 2 or3 times for a phone #.Plus, no instructions available to use the TV nor WIFI conections. Keith Boothe
