First, the lobby should be clean. But it is not being cleaned regularly if at all. The floor in the lobby seating area is not swept - there are crumbs and scraps of paper all over the floor. Food scraps and cup rings on the tables are not cleaned up day after day. Second, one thing I expect from a hotel in this...

"Best Western is our go to hotel when we visit Ames. The breakfast bar has a variety to choose from, including waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, etc. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well maintained. It’s a short drive to the university and the Reiman Gardens a great place to wander about as well as their butterfly enclosure. The staff I’d friendly and helpful. When in Ames stay at the Best Western."

We only had time on one night to use the pool but it was a bit too cold. Staff was all pleasant but not around much in the evening. But no problems with our stay. Would definitely stay again."
