"Breakfast was ok the fruits were fresh but the gallo pinto to dry. The rooms are big but outdated. No air conditioning. The surrounds are beautiful. If you don’t need air conditioned you will be fine. The bed is not comfortable neither the pillows. "

Crossing the field to the restaurant, I was focused on a Parakeet up in the tree, then two Scarlet Macaws flew overhead and a Ringed Kingfisher showed up with a fish, just outside of the restaurant’s balcony! "My stay at sangregado lodge was great. The room was beautiful. It was raining a lot but we still had an opportunity to see the volcano straight from our room. Staff was very attentive and nice. We didn’t rent a car but we had access to shuttles and taxis that could take us anywhere. I think id recommend getting a car though as it might be a bit more cost efficient, but overall either is doable. There’s a lot of winding roads and there are no restaurants on the property so we had to travel about...

"We loved staying at Chachagua and would highly recommend it to anyone considering. The property is sprawling, with so much available onsite to enjoy. We took advantage of the coffee and chocolate tour, the cooking class, and the night tour on property. All were excellent. "The room and facilities were clean, my only complaint would be the area itself, out of control of the hotel. There was someone sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the hotel when we arrived and there really isn’t much to offer in the area. We only stopped for the night to catch the ferry the next day and thought that there would be more to see. "

"We stayed on the second floor and had a nice balcony with a view of the volcano which was beautiful. The room had a few inconveniences - there was no countertop by the sink for toiletries and the Wi-Fi was very poor.
