"Love this place if you’re not looking for luxury. It has value though. Was disappointed that I saw an ad that they still had free airport shuttles. That’s not the case anymore. Watch out for mosquitos while in the tree areas and avoid restaurant seating near the trees. Beach is clean and free of sargassum but not great to swim in. Love the adult pool in the select club. Highly recommend booking a snorkeling trip with Scuba Libre on the beach at Sandos. So much fun to swim with Maria the turtle in the wild. I’ve booked diving trips with them too in past visits. I only ate from the buffet as I was a solo traveler for a 4 day stay and love that the food changes somewhat day to day. Al a carte dining has been fantastic in the past too. I would also recommend spending a little more and booking the spa with hydrotherapy, massage and mini facial. My poor old dried up Canadian skin feels 20 years younger!"

"This is a well kept collection to the RIU family. I usually stay at an all Adults RIU resort for more party life and activities but Riveria Maya was amazing! The staff was very welcoming and very accommodating. I had no problems throughout my stay and I really appreciated the cleanliness of the staff. 10/10 highly recommended for families travels."

"Loved everything! Would go back again! They were all very helpful and kind. Rooms were great. The only thing we didn’t like was they tried to sell us their membership as soon as we checked in. We had children with us and one is disabled, we really Needed to change him but it took forever to get us into a room because they were trying to sell to us."
