We booked our 10 day stay at the 4-star Mia Reef. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. A week prior to our arrival I send the hotel an email to make them aware this was our wedding anniversary as well as my wife's b-day so wanted a nice room and good experience. I never received a response. I attempted to contact the hotel via phone for three days prior to arrival to confirm our reservation, unable to get anyone to answer. I went through their call center they were eventually able to connect us with the hotel. I relayed the same info as my email. He assured me we would be pleased. On arrival we were given a substandard room (2 star at best). the shower head was hanging out of the ceiling and the shower leaked water out of it. In addition, there was no hot water. I tried to call the front desk however the phone did not work. After walking to the front desk and expressing my concerns I was assured everything would be looked after. Nobody ever attended our room. After more attempts to have the issues rectified (2 days trying) with no success we paid an additional $xxxx on top of the $xx,xxxwe spend for the 10 day vacation to upgrade to a villa. The villa was also in need of repair and the A/C unit leaked water badly on to the floor. We tried to speak the with Mgr. however she managed to avoid us for 5 days. We were told, she was only visiting/not in today/took the day off etc. Made a 9 am appointment and she failed to show
