Charming 1900s Lewes Retreat – Walk to Shops, Dining & Beach!

"Plenty of space for family and friends. The house appears to have been two units with multiple kitchens, living spaces, and AC units, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing when traveling with multiple generations. The location was excellent and there is plentiful off street parking. The one con for me has already been noted - the yard is really overgrown in front and in back and does not match pictures from the street. I appreciate native/natural landscaping, but it can be done without looking neglected. But overall, a great stay!"

"Staff were all super kind and helpful. Employees at the front desk greeted us every time we went in or out of the hotel. The woman in charge of breakfast made conversation with every one every morning and was sweet as can be. The kid pool was a huge hit for our toddler. He loved the fish slide. Breakfast was really good for hotel standards! Had typical breakfast options: waffles, various breads/bagels, eggs, sausage, muffins, fruit, oatmeal, and yogurt. They also had coffee, milk, and juices. My only complaint about breakfast was that there was no apple juice the entire week we were there and the orange juice wasn’t the best. Cranberry juice was good though! Room was very spacious which was great since we have a little one. Room had a mini fridge which held way more than we thought it would, as well as a microwave and a small sink next to it which was nice for washing cups and bibs. The room was quiet despite being on the first floor. Decent channels on the TV also. Only complaint is that the bath tub looked like it needed some work done, and the entryway and bathroom tile grout looked dirty. There were also flies in our room which was annoying. I know that’s not exactly the hotel’s fault, but they had to be getting in from somewhere! Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable enough!"

"My room number was 217 a two queen size suite the mattress to the window side kept me awake all night.It felt like the mattress has broken in the middle it was so bad I had to sleep on the couch. Other than that it was an excellent place to stay for a vacation."

"Had a great time at this property and in Lewes. Centrally located to both town and the beach - both are a reasonable walk away but it was easy enough to drive and park. House was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. The only thing we didn't anticipate was the noise from the cars driving over gravel lot for the adjacent marina and restaurant. There was some late night and early morning noise, and our children slept through it mostly. We had a great stay!"

"This cottage was spotless, charming, convenient, uncomfortable in every way first of all I never stayed in such a cute place before you walk into a galley kitchen that is completely functional for making simple meals and the bathroom off to the side is spacious with a beautiful overhead rain like shower. The air conditioning runs throughout the cottage and it is easy to keep a comfortable temperature at all times, the living room is an open concept and there is a little counter to have your meals or do work on your laptop. We even enjoyed our time in the rain taking a nap on the couch, drinking tea and watching a movie. Do be a bit careful on the winding staircase with the low ceiling going upstairs to the sleeping alcove there is however, another Lital toilet closet up there for your convenience and the bed is very comfortable. Light comes in through all windows and there are plenty of lamps all around it is less than a mile walk to town maybe a third of a mile to all the restaurants we definitely plan to stay there again."
