Great property, noisy location
The house itself was beautiful, very clean, well-appointed, and conveniently located within easy walking distance of the train station, grocery store, restaurants, cathedral, etc. However, there was a noisy pub right across the street that played loud music until after 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights. Also, the management company was not prompt in responding to messages (over 24 hours).
The plusses were the location, view of the castle, comfort of bedding and pillows and lounging in the parlor with the fake coal fire place. The down side is the house needs a lot of TLC. The front yard and back were full of weeds and some garbage that blows in on the busy street out front. The carpets, entry tile and bathroom grout need a deep cleaning. Also be prepared to buy all supplies even garbage bags, TP & paper towels. Overall though it is charming & comfortable …lots of activity outside at night so plan on having window closed in primary bedroom so you may need a little fan and earplugs.
Excellent location - walking distance to city centre (although up a steep hill) and great views to castle and cathedral.Kitchen was very well equipped. We didn't cook much but lots of utensils not normally found in holidays lets. Would have been able to cook from scratch - masher, garlic press, grater, oven trays, casserole dishes, etc.Spacious house, light, airy, well appointed.Only issue was regarding parking permit. No clear instructions in the property and we arrived after office hours. Phoned the out of hours mobile number - no reply. Left message but no-one got back to us. Only able to phone in office hours after parking started being chargeable. A three hour pass had been left, but again with no clear instructions, but seems to have covered us ok until we could get it sorted.
