"Me and my wife stayed for one night and before booking I was concerned re some of the reviews. It looks to me that the owners are trying to restart this property. It definetly could be a great destination. This property with its location provides a great launching base for all type of travelers heading into Algonquin Park. We stayed in the motel rooms over looking the lake. The rooms along that side have been fully renovated inside and was spotless. New bathroom, flooring and furniture all of it...

"We were to check in at 4pm and we had booked three rooms. When we reached there, the check in was quick. When we reached the room, two rooms were great, but one had a strong moldy smell. We reported this to Naven at the reception right away. He was very helpful and showed us three more rooms, but all of them had strong moldy smell. We finally found a room that did not have any odour, but we had to settle for a single queen bedroom, instead of a double queen room that we had booked. We asked them...

"We were unfamiliar with the Haliburton Post House and booked two nights , mid week, on a whim to get out of town. The room was beautiful, the food and wine selection was great. We took advantage of their waterfront and toys on what may have been the hottest day of the year. Thanks to the staff who made us feel welcome and were the highlight of our stay."

"What a beautiful place to stay! Wish we could have stayed longer. The staff deserved more stars than 5; the dinner was beyond expectation, and the room was delightful. The beach front is inviting, with an expansive deck, fire pits and kayaks. We really enjoyed cocktails on the patio before dinner. Thanks for making our weekend so great."

"A beautiful cabin with all mod cons"

"The host was very responsive! The cottage was stocked to the max with condiments, basics like sugar, oats and flour. Everything worked. No wifi.Beds were comfy. The lake is beautiful. Caught fish right off the dock! Saw 2 pileated woodpeckers next door and there's a loon family on the lake. Fairy lites to guide the path to the dock at night. The weather was cold, windy and wet most of the time while we were there, but we could make a fire in the fireplace and in the outdoor firepit to be cozy...

"Super convenient location close to Minden and on the river. We needed somewhere convenient to stay for a hockey tournament and this fit the bill. Communication with the owner was great and he was very accommodating."
