"Dear Hotel Management, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the handling of my recent booking and cancellation request at your hotel, where I have stayed regularly for the past 15 years whenever visiting London. After the Middle East conflict began, my flights were cancelled and I contacted the hotel requesting cancellation of a booking, but I never received any response. Recently, I again chose your hotel for a one-night stay. Due to flight delays, I arrived at 6 am and appreciated the late checkout extended until 5 pm. After my London–Rome flight was cancelled, the airline initially rebooked me two days later, so I extended my hotel stay for 3 nights through Expedia at a cost of about AUD $1600. Only 30 minutes later, the airline advised I could depart the same day. I immediately spoke with reception and was told the booking could be cancelled, and I was given a cancellation number so Expedia could process the refund. However, when Expedia contacted the hotel, the cancellation was rejected. Expedia is now asking me for the receptionist’s full name and role, which I find unreasonable. Guests should be able to trust information provided by hotel staff. This situation has seriously damaged my trust in the hotel. After 15 years as a loyal guest, I feel this matter has been handled unfairly and I respectfully ask management to review and resolve it fairly."

"Stayed 3 nights so it’s ok for a short trip. But don’t recommend for longer stays. Pros: close to Victoria Station and Hop on/Hop off Tours. Breakfast was £11 but fairly good with plenty of options. Clean room. Cons: Hard beds, hard pillows, windows are drafty and outside noise is very loud. Trains were so loud and even rumbled the bed at times. Rooms are quite small and no bathroom toiletries or even a wash cloth provided. Too many homeless around low to no lighting makes the area feel unsafe at night. "

"Breakfast buffet was great, room was a bit small but perfect for solo traveler. Location was perfect ! Nightlife is literally walkable ! Theatres are walkable! Restaurants are walkable! Hotel is super clean , nice cute gym! Would definitely recommend! "

"From check in when we arrived off an early flight yo find our room was ready, then free gift of drinks, to room amenities being replaced very quickly from we asked. To a great and well stocked, great variety of breakfast, the helpfulness of staff and simple check out! Brilliant hotel, great location to Buckingham Palace and all the sites! Will definitely be back! And a good price for great accommodation!"

"I arrived into London on an early flight so went straight to the hotel where I was told my room was ready. Then I was told that if I wanted to check-in I would have to pay an additional £55! I went to work and returned at 4pm and check-in was an absolute disaster - I was passed between 3 different receptionists. I eventually got to my room at 4.45pm. Have been using this hotel for almost 20 years and every year the service level declines which is so disappointing!"

"The room was serviced every day of the four we were there. Staff was very kind and cheerful. Lots of restaurants nearby and about a 10 minute walk to the underground. I tried the breakfast on checkout day and found it to be very nice. Many selections to choose from and they just charge the room. Would definitely recommend."

"We booked this hotel based on the wonderful description and photographs advertised on their website for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. WE WERE BITTERLY DISAAPOINTED. Firstly, we were warmly welcomed and allowed to access our room earlier than expected. The receptionist asked for payment which we were sure we had already paid via Hotels.com? We were looking forward to booking dinner that Friday evening but were told that the restaurant shuts at 3pm. That was the first disappointment. We later managed to locate an available restaurant along the Kings Road although many were already fully booked. That evening we came back to spend time in their lounge and bar. When we asked the receptionist where we should be heading, she informed us that there wasn't a bar or a lounge for guests staying at their hotel, despite advertising a stunning bar on their website! Apparently, the bar/lounge had been shut for a year and still, this is shown as a facility on their website. We find this an appalling and totally misleading marketing strategy which we feel needs to taken further. With regard to our payment; we were able to confirm with Sloane Place that we already paid for hotel via Hotel.com 6 weeks prior. Despite several reassurances, we have yet to receive a refund for the duplicate payment. We feel absolutely MIS-SOLD and this one night stay ruined what should have been a wonderful celebration in a top class hotel."
