"To be honest, and in my personal opinion, I don’t feel this hotel currently deserves a 5-star rating, especially considering the price. Our stay was unfortunately not a particularly pleasant experience. We had to change rooms because of unpleasant smells, especially on the lower floors. To be fair, the staff were helpful and arranged alternative rooms on higher floors, which I appreciated. The best part of the hotel is undoubtedly the spectacular sea view and peaceful location. However, when it...
"My husband and I spent a part of our honeymoon at Vale Do Lobo. We really enjoyed the accommodations. We had a private apartment with a pool, which was lovely. We enjoyed the on-site restaurants, golf, and the pool area. We even went to the beach one day.
The accommodations were great! They provided us with espresso for the Nespresso machine. Gave us a loaf of bread and a bottle of wine. We had everything we could need at the apartment."
"The hotel is exceptional. We had not one complaint. The buffet breakfast was great, the adult only pool was nice and quiet and the staff was lovely. Highly recommend."
"It's a 5 star hotel and it shows. It is large, has plenty of amenities and resources for the guests. A few restaurants and a bar (admittedly we didn't get to try any). The breakfast was good. The pool was nice and comforting on the hot days we had. The hotel room was very spacious. And the bathroom was larger than I'm used to. We'd been in other hotels durong our Portugal trip that were quite small, so this was a welcome change. Overall we loved this hotel.
I saw other reviews mention the hotel...
"We decided at the desk to upgrade our stay to include "All Inclusive" food and beverages. It turned out to be a good decision as there were none of the usual restaurants or bars within easy walking distance of the hotel. There was easy access to a long white sandy beach with turquoise waters that many locals take advantage of. A boardwalk there stretched for miles providing a nice place to walk or run.
The pools were top notch, featured some scheduled activities, live music, DJ, and bar service....
"It was an unplanned stay due to a flight cancellation. I really appreciated the unexpected room upgrade which made the day's frustrations much easier to deal with. A beautiful hotel, great breakfast, staff and location"
"Second time @ Dona Fillpa. A lovely quiet relaxing time again
Staff great.
Pool a little chilly but perfectly ok.
Located next to bars and restaurants and close to beach"
"I liked the entertainment especially in the evening. The only downside was the strict 3 pm check in. For people who are traveling across the ocean it's really not convenient. The hotel in general was great, the staff couldn't do better."
