"The hotel is a really nice old quaint building nestled in Lyndhurst. The staff are all really helpful and friendly, a special mention for the lovely Eila, I'm sorry if I spelt that wrong, she's a very pretty and happy Ukrainian lady working in the restaurant, and also to the mixologist behind the bar who was excellent in her job. The rooms are clean and well maintained, my only criticism is that they could have shaving mirrors in the bathrooms, they're quite dimly lit, and the only mirror is set...
"I really enjoyed my time here, the staff were incredibly helpful. My favourite part was that the spa was included, we had slippers and robes provided for us. The show stopper was that it had smart tv in the hotel room which made the biggest difference."

"Beautifully and recently renovated property with luxurious rooms, loads of nice details and small touches. Breakfast was good, dinner a bit hit and miss. Interesting menu and generally tasty but at £95 for two (without alcohol) it didn’t always meet expectations and a couple of dishes were a let down. Would happily revisit the chain for bed and breakfast."

"Unique historic property. A restaurant with rooms … definitely not your usual chain hotel room. In a building hundreds of years old the floors and stairs are very wonky … so mind your step! We loved the character of the buildings and our room (no. 6 … not all rooms have wood panelling this dark!) … it was spacious and had everything we needed.
And the food in the restaurant was great … both for evening meal and breakfast."
"Probably one of the worst 3 star hotel bedrooms (room 12) we have ever stayed in. The bathroom was terrible, ceiling paint was peeling off, shower seal was broken causing the floor to flood, toilet roll holder was hanging off, soap dispenser was broken, door handle did not work and signs of damp or roof leak staining on the ceiling.
The bedroom was no better, window was rotten and could not be opened. Paint peeling off the window and radiator, black mould on the window catch, provided fan was...
"Not a hotel for light sleepers - they changed my room from an extremely noisy room to a slightly less noisy room. It’s an old hotel it’s cute but not for sleeping. The bath was nice with nice products but taps not secure. Good aircon but stays light when on again not great for sleeping. The dinner was not good at all and was expensive. We sent one dish back and were asked for cooking tips. The decor here is elegant and there’s little choice in Winchester but I wouldnt stay here again or eat here...
"Room 3, an Indugence Room. I’d say it could be more indulging - larger bed, mattress topper, bathrobes - for example. Unfortunately it’s above the pub so can be noisy, especially when the staff run up and down the creaky stairs - we spent the night in our room and it was a constant irritation.
But other than that, the food is excellent, lovely decor, nice atmosphere, and Stockbridge is awesome."
"Helpful staff but booked an air con room. Air con wasn't working. We swopped rooms and a fan was provided but was really loud so could only use intermittently. Bad night's sleep."
