"Reconsider your choice if you’re planning to visit in the summer. There’s no air conditioning and the windows open about an inch. They do provide one fan but it was extremely hot in the room. I wouldn’t stay again in the heat.
The terrace and bar were lovely. Burger was good.
In general the place needs some TLC. Some of our party were allocated room which were very outdated and poor value for £180, funnily enough there aren’t pictures of these rooms in the images.

"Super impressed with this hotel! Wasn’t expecting much given its location but it’s been beautifully designed and feels like a mini resort with spa, bar and lovely restaurant with an outside area. The only downside was the charge to use the pool which was not pointed out until after booking."

"Parking was a bit of an adventure and it didn't mention that parking was £25 for overnight. Plenty of bars to eat and drink, thought £12 for 2 pepsi was a bit much but it is a fantastic place. Dinner in the grill was exceptionally good and descent price. Breakfast was best £9 each i have ever spent, but book it with booking or it £24 each in hotel. The breakfast had everything you could possible want and every ingredient was of excellent quality. Highly recommend this hotel. We plan to go back...

"Stayed 2 nights, first night the toilet would not flush and was blocked, the shower was faulty, cold water pulsing on and off so either a cold shower or a shower that would go from scalding hot to freezing cold.
The front desk gave us another room, smaller than the one we paid for and the toilet did work, bit the shower was the same.
Breakfast was not nice, beside the front entrance was the smoking area, so we had to run past holding our breath.
Terrible place. Choose somewhere else."

"The public areas show off the heritage of this very old house to great effect. We loved the breakfast - both staff & food were outstanding. The extensive grounds contain the Golf courses, but even with magnificent trees and the lake, there is no escape from Golf.
The only significant disappointment was Wifi coverage in the Mathern annexe. I spent far too much quality time back & forth to reception to no avail. Management seem to be addressing the issue, so fingers crossed for future...

"The rooms were nice and clean. The only downside was there was no air conditioning so the room was very hot and we only had a small fan. The spa was lovely , the pool was great."

"Room wasn’t cleaned so also no tea/coffee/water replaced. Called reception and replacements promised within 10 minutes - never arrived after an hour so had to re request. No clean cups or spoons. Two power cuts first night with no answer to an Expedia message.
Hotel was extremely dated and it is never a 4 star room and the receptionists all lacked basic pleasantries/communication skills. Much prefer Llechwen Hall stays.
Golf course looked nice though"
