"What a superb gem of a hotel. Location is ideal for travelling with plenty of car parking. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the room had everything we needed. Breakfast was extremely good with a wide selection of continental and superbly cooked and varied hot options. Ate dinner in the restaurant and the meal was lovely. Originally booked one night travelling south and then decided to stay again a few nights later when travelling back. Will definitely be back."

"Clean and comfortable room. Perfect location with short walk to The Hoe and Barbican. There are eight car park spaces on a first come basis. We were able to get one as we arrived at the earliest checkin. We would definitely stay again."

"The room had a smell like cat urine but looked clean.The person who first dealt with us was matter of fact no smile not welcoming and refused to give my husband a receipt until we left he also didn’t tell us it would be emailed to us.All the other staff were lovely the air conditioning was great breakfast average. "Went for one night . Really friendly staff and good location . Room was Executive Double. Nice and spacious with chairs sofa and good view . Bed was clean and tidy . Just room was a little dated and worn in places."

"The Derwent Hotel itself was good and the hotel receptionist helped a lot when we had an issue with the Spa service. We went for my friend's birthday stayed on the Saturday night, had a great time and booked a surprise treatment for the Sunday morning, when she went down for the treatment it was not on their system and the receptionist was abrupt to my friend and asked if she had the right date, I went and showed all the information ( emails, when I phoned and the money that had been taken from...

"The room served it's purpose in the sense that there was a bed and a shower but there was no breakfast at all despite saying that it was served on their website. Furthermore, there was no bar even though there was signs for a bar. There was both an indoor and outside pool but the outside pool was closed and the indoor pool opened at 10am which is the time that you are going out to explore the area. Our bathroom door lock was a bit dodgy when you attempted to lock it on the inside, my partner...

"The staff, we found to be friendly, helpful and efficient. Room bedding and towels were clean with replacements available if required. Rooms were serviced alternate days, but also on request. Breakfasts were well presented with plenty of choices from hot, cereals, fruit, pastries etc We had dinner most evenings, which we enjoyed, with a choice of 2 or 3 courses. Also sandwiches were available if requested at lunch time in the bar."

"They lied and said it was a seafront but inside it wasn’t. Fan was very slow and low quality and it was a tiny desk fan. The room was hot as there was no ac and I couldn’t sleep due to heat."
