"Hotel was lovely and central. There was an anime convention on the weekend we were there, which we hadn't been informed about on check in, so we couldn't really spend time in the hotel, and kept getting asked for our pass to enter if we were out. We weren't informed about check out times or breakfast options at check in, and there was no complimentary water in the room. Other than that it was a nice hotel, room was clean and it was very central for exeter tiwn centre."

"Clean hotel, unfortunately the dining area is far too small when the hotel is busy. Although a dog friendly hotel, you are asked to sit in a specific area and if it's busy, you may have to wait an hour or so, or take breakfast in your room, despite tables being available and the food area being separate from the seating area. Overall not too bad price wise, by the time you add on parking and the pet. We stayed for 4 nights in the May holidays, worked out around £100/night. Staff were friendly...

"We only stayed one night and didn’t really use any of the facilities etc but it was clean and comfortable. Good location in the city centre and not too far from a car park."

"We had a lovely stay in the suite. Once the windows were closed it was super quiet and the bed was very comfy. The room clean and cosy. The hairdryer was broken tho'. The hotel is full of character and so I think its old style decor is part of its charm. Even so a more.modern feel to the bedrooms woulf be a good idea. The secret garden could be stunning and does has some lovely plants however it felt a tad grubby (sticky tables). Sraff amazing. "

"Lovely hotel with excellent staff who were always attentive and helpful. Really good breakfast with a selection of pastries, fruit, etc and a selection of hot food cooked to order.Easy parking opposite hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel"

"Entering the warm friendly reception area, you are greeted with smiles and laughter, and the staff are so friendly and chatty, making check in a breeze. The bedroom was spacious and clean, and the shower was large and had good water pressure. Evening dinner was delicious it was a 3-course meal – Fish Goujons for starter and Chicken and dauphinoise potatoes for main and fruits of the forest cheesecake for dessert. Bingo was on the go for the residents after dinner, loads of laughter and people...

"Right in the center of town and an easy walk from the train station in Barnstaple. Everything is right there in walking distance and it's all just as funky and charming and welcoming as can be! The hotel's foundation has sunken a bit (or more in some places) which is charming but a little disconcerting if you're thinking you might fall out of bed!"
