"Based on the price it was ideal as all I wanted was to break a long journey for a few hours sleep. Everything was clean. The furnishings are dated but then you can't have both plush decor and a low price. I did hate having to wade through cigarette smoke and vape clouds to get into the hotel. Why do guests congregate around entrances to pursue these disgusting habits. "

"Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Family room was spacious and excellently cleaned. For the price it was very reasonable. 2 minutes to railway station , and bars and eating houses. An excellent location for all amenities. Take into consideration that this building is very old but kept to good standard . Loads and loads of towels for one night stay. If in Carlisle again I would definitely stay here everything you need on the doorstep"
