"Despite the construction/roadwork being done outside, the room was quiet at night. No air conditioning but the shades and fan made the room comfortable for sleeping.
There is a lovely garden out back where we sat for breakfast.
Less than 1 block from rail station and a very easy walk to downtown Oxford. We were able to leave luggage there much of our last day while we continued to explore the town. It was very handy to then walk to the train and head to the next destination"

"Second time we’ve stayed here and it’s become the preferred option for visiting friends who live nearby in Oxford. It’s recently renovated, super clean and very comfortable. It’s self checkin but lots of comms from staff and a very straightforward process. Also found staff to be very responsive when messaging to arrange a late checkout. Rooms might be a bit small for a multi day stay, but for one or two nights it’s perfect.

"Upon arrival and viewing our rooms; we actually chose to forfeit our prepaid booking and paid a much higher rate for last minute booking at another hotel. No air conditioning, no elevator and one of our rooms was on the 4th floor (difficult with luggage), the smell was stale and the rooms were in bad shape."

"Location and staff great. Pub below venue is closed and for sale but good pub food a 5 minute walk away. Property in need of air conditioning for summer stays though although a fan is provided which is insufficient to cool the room. Location overlooking the lake and bird life is superb and car park fees go to the park upkeep so are justified. Overall good but too hot in the room."

"Nice, old school property in a nice riverside location. Very short walk to the train station and an easy walk into Oxford. Breakfast was very good as well. Be aware that there is no lift/elevator nor is there air-conditioning or mini fridges in the rooms."

"Beautiful hotel in excellent location. Bus stop 2 mins walk away to either town centre or in opposite direction Blenheim Palace for a concert. Excellent Accomodation & clean & has everything you need & wifi. I travelled be train & will definitely stay here again."
