"Fantastic staff. Great room with decor. Very comfortable bed. Only let down by a very dirty, previously used toilet brush.
Didn't get to try their food from their main menu as my partner was being very fussy and wanted pie and mash or sausages and mash and it wasn't an option on menu, but the breakfast was delicious."
"The property is absolutely lovely and the staff are excellent. The breakfast is also really great. The location is perfect. We really enjoyed our stay and want to come back.
The only minor negatives were, the TV is ridiculously small and most of the Freeview channels don’t work due to low or poor signal - surely a hotel in 2025 can resolve this issue? It would have been nice to get a complimentary bottle of water every day and not just on arrival. The WiFi kept dropping and we had to keep...
"What an excellent country pub. We have a lovely steak meal and used the garden to sit outside and have a drink before retiring to our room. The staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly.Breakfast was well cooked and very enjoyable.
Our room was lovely and clean but the toilet flush didn’t work as well as it should.
Overall we had lovely meals and a great stay made better by the welcoming friendly and attentive staff"
"This is a great place to stay. Very handy for the town centre and Apex theatre. It’s very well presented, clean and very friendly.
We will definitely return. "
"A little gem in the country side, lovely clean rooms with modern air con, excellent breakfast with good quality ingredients and a spacious beer garden with very reasonable drink prices"
"Very concerned about state of one of food service staff, decided not to eat at The Bushel at all, not dinner and not breakfast. Fortunately, there is a good cafe nearby for breakfast. For the record, the stay was greatly spoiled by atrocious state of 'townspeople'."

"Had everything we needed including a shower non slip mat very useful and a fan nice big room and bed all refreshments including biscuits helpful staff "
"The Packhorse Inn was a very pleasant inn to stay at for my business trip! The room itself was well air conditioned and the amenities were very comfortable. Any extras needed such as ironing board, etc were readily available from the staff. Had breakfast and supper multiple evenings of my trip and always enjoyed them throughly. Generous portions and reasonable pricing. The inn itself is located next to a quiet and quaint village which is a short few minute drive into Newmarket which is loaded with eateries and walking areas. All very nice due to the presence of the racehorse facilities surrounding the area. Would highly recommend the packhorse for business or a couples getaway. "
"Great stay as always at Bedford Lodge. The rooms are excellent and we stayed on a very hot day / evening and the air con was very welcoming after attending a wedding.
Thanks to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so good. . "
"This was my second visit. I love staying here. The staff are most welcoming, as are the locals. The hospitality, food and beers are all excellent. The hotel building, bar, restaurant and grounds are most pleasant. The cuisine was served quickly and is very tasty. It is in a lovely place, which is quiet and also not too far from the town. It is also easily accessible. Very easy going and no complications. If I go to Ipswich again I will stay at The Sorrell Horse again!"
