Calm Oasis
Very friendly check-in service and our room was spotlessy clean and very comfortable. Nice touch to add sweets and water (glass bottle!) in the room. Attended a function at the hotel and got a very good rate including a room upgrade (last minute booking). The rack rate doesn't include breakfast which to my mind, lovely as the hotel and grounds maybe, can make this hotel relatively expensive. Very quiet hotel, food was excellent and we would stay again.

They take pride in what they do!!
After a long drive, the welcome we received was first class. Situated inland between Workington and Whitehaven, Hunday Manor is a lovely old country manor which has been modernised to a very high standard. The ambience is quiet yet refined and our room was spotless. The evening meal was excellent and the price very reasonable. Breakfast was also of a high standard. If you are in the Western Lake District, then this is the place to stay.

Soft Close doors-peaceful night
Helpful staff easy check in. Good parking & reasonable bar prices. Nicely appointed rooms. Best of all the soft close doors ensured unbroken sleep- why don't more hotels have them? If it had a pool or gym, I would stay no where else on my regular trips to west Cumbria.

Nice bit of comfort before the coast to coast
Enjoyed our stay, however could have been a little clearer on the B&B rate, didn't realise that the full English was going to be that much more on top of rate - may have missed it, but only tells me that it wasn't clear

Beautiful location
fantastic hotel, very clean of a high standard, amazed it was classed as a 3 star, beautiful surroundings. Only small criticism was that there was no air conditioning.

Wonderful stay at Hunday Manor
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Hunday Manor. Our room had just been refurbished and although slightly small everything was perfect. It would have been preferable to have a sea view, but for the price we payed it was great. The bar area needs a bit of a refurb., but that is their next project, so will soon be the same beautiful standard as the rest I should imagine. Their chef is a gem, absolutely perfect food. Only let-down was really cold, stewed coffee after our meal, that was supposed to be 'freshly brewed'. Yuk ! Breakfast was stupendous, the best bacon we have ever tasted. All staff really friendly.
