"Excellent experience with helpful reception and catering staff. Only downside is lack of air conditioning and extractor fan in bathroom. The cell rooms offer a novelty overnight stay. Scaffolding outside did not distract from a pleasurable stay in an historic area in the centre of Oxford. "

"Hotel was very clean and main areas were excellent. Room was clean and largely well maintained but the floorboards were creaky in some places, the shower wasn't always hot and the bathroom extractor fan was pretty loud. Receptionist when we checked in was fantastic, but when we checked out the receptionist (different person) was on the phone, which wasn't a problem, but the other staff member stood at the desk just stared at us and didn't speak. Bar staff, although efficient behind the bar, left tables to be cleared for some time and were not verycommunicative. Good hotel, can't fault the cleanliness, but customer service was lacking ever so slightly."

"Our room was beautiful, spacious and very clean. We had a separate 'T.V' room with a sofa bed for extra guests so learnt of room for 4 adults. If I had to be picky there was only one packet if normal Nescafé coffee. For whatever reason the restaurant closed at 7 pm despite the web site saying 9 pm. Breakfast was really nice - sausages were fabulous."
