"Being a 'Vacation Club' type property we kind of expected they would try to push joining.... They did and the way they did it was very misleading. It started from the moment we checked in. During the checkin process, the front desk clerk formed us we had to pick up our parking pass and free checkin gift from the concierge desk. There was nothing free... UNLESS WE AGREED TO SIT FOR A 90 SALES PRESENTATION. The concierge person kept pushing and pushing for us to agree. All we wanted was our parking pass. We just checked in and all we wanted to do is get to our room. Not a very good way to start our stay. Very misleading practice - not a true Marriott core value.
The concierge even called the morning of our checkout stating they had a free gift for us and asked us to stop by before we left. Again, another attempt to get us to purchase a special pre-paid stay (if you agree to a presentation)
Sad way for Marriott Vacation Club to get people in ....."
