Whitby Sea View Cottage with Harbour Views

An 18th-century Grade II listed apartment with sea views from every room, set in a very quiet location on The Cragg, one of Whitby’s most atmospheric historic streets. The exterior remains largely unchanged from its days as a working fishing port, preserving the town’s traditional character.

The apartment features a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with character ceiling beams. All bedding is provided. The property was fully renovated a couple of years ago, while carefully retaining its original features.

Modern comforts include double glazing, gas central heating, soundproofing, and insulation. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay with little more than the sound of the sea, this is the ideal retreat.

Free scratch cards are provided for parking, allowing you to unload directly outside before parking in any nearby W Zone, with the nearest at Khyber Pass, just around the corner. A key safe allows guests to let themselves in on arrival.

Access is via Pier Road and a short flight of stone steps. Loading bays are available at the foot of the steps.

The open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area includes a 32-inch flat-screen TV with integral DVD player (no Wi-Fi). The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including a washing machine and dishwasher.

The staircase leads to the first-floor double bedroom and fully tiled bathroom with shower. The attic twin bedroom, known as The Crow’s Nest, offers character beams and beautiful views over the bustling harbour.

If you’re looking for a quiet apartment with iconic Whitby views, you can do no better. Strictly no smoking and no pets.

Short stay in Whitby

Charachterful property in Whitby. So close to everything yet peaceful and quiet for sleeping. Extremely comfy beds and everything you could want in the kitchen. Very spacious and lovely modern bathroom. Perfect !

Great little place with a view!

Perfect location! The only comfortable bed and pillows in all of Scotland and England so far! Only one complaint, half a roll of TP for 4 people. Did not want to have to stick around for housekeeper to come so bought some ourselves. Overall would stay again, lovely place!

Brilliant short family stay

We stayed for two nights with our two children to explore Whitby. The cottage is fantastic! Really nicely furnished and well equipped and lovely to look out over the harbour and across to the abbey. The location is brilliant, right by the harbourside but still feels nice and peaceful in the cottage.

Great location and nice property. We really enjoyed our stay. Overall would recommend as a place to stay.Just a minor point of feedback to the owner - there are a few nails on some of the gripper rods on the stair carpet that need attention as they are coming through the carpet and 4 of us cut our feet over the weekend. I am sure this can soon be fixed now you know about this issue.thank you

Grossly disappointed

We arrived in the town at 1:30 as we was to receive the keycode at 2. When we did not receive the key code we tried to contact Stayz but could not get through. We rang the number for the agent we was given 14 times, each time the telco said we dialled a wrong number try again. We went and found the cottage only to discover the cottage had a different name. There was an email address for the owner on the door so we sent them an email but no reply. It was by now getting dark it was raining and bitterly cold. The few business that were open being Christmas eve were starting to close. It was now well after 4 pm so we decided we had better try and find a hotel. After searching around Whitby in north Yorkshire in very inclement weather we found a hotel on top of the hill. After booking in paying for two nights instead of the three we had paid for through Stayz, gratefully retired to bed. At 8:37 pm, 5 hours 37 mins late we was woken by a txt from the agent with the key code.

Beautiful Cottage

This cottage was in a perfect location in the centre of Whitby, it was really quite with stunning views of the Abbey. The cottage was super comfortable and had everything you could need for a stay away. I would highly recommend this cottage for a stay in Whitby however long you intend to stay.

Very good space, and a very enjoyable stay. Central location that, although noisy and congested with Sunday visitors on arrival, and having to get over being above amusement arcades, was remarkably quiet and relaxing overnight. Don’t come if you have difficulty with steps as you have a lot to climb inside and outside when you can’t park alongside the property.
