Royal National Hotel
8/10 Good
"I stayed at The Royal National Hotel for one night on Wednesday 7 October. For the price I paid (£120 for the room, although breakfast was an additional £30 (what?!), bringing the total to £150), I can’t really complain. The room was a double overlooking the forecourt. Surprisingly, noise was minimal, although I can imagine it gets considerably noisier at weekends. The en-suite was perfectly adequate, too. My only gripes were the rather weak shower pressure and the fact that the water never quite reached a temperature I would have liked. What really let the stay down, however, was the breakfast offering. The whole operation could best be described as school dinners. Guests have to queue to be seated, with staff chaperoning people around the breakfast room. In all honesty, I’ve never experienced anything quite like it in a hotel. The room itself was noisy, and there was yet another queue for the breakfast buffet. I found the whole experience rather off-putting, so I decided not to bother with breakfast and instead stave off the hunger until lunchtime. Overall, I’d describe my stay as very Travelodge-esque. For the price, you can’t complain too much, but I would certainly have preferred the more relaxed ambience of a Premier Inn! Just don’t pay the extra THRITY QUID for breakfast and instead spend that money in a more relaxing cafe nearby."
The Tower Hotel, by Thistle
10/10 Excellent
"Amazing location and the view from our suite was unforgettable! Large, clean suite with plenty of room for a weeks stay. Very comfortable bed, soft linens and comfortable pillows. Large bathroom, large, absorbent body towels, robe and slippers (slippers will not fit if your feet are size 9 and above). Dual sinks, vanity area kind of dark at night (no overhead or mirror lights). The staff is extremely professional and helpful, from top to bottom. Breakfast has very good choices and delicious, self serve, and plentiful. The restaurant and bar have a good menu and the food is very, very good. You can’t beat the location, Tower Bridge and Tower House across the street! Easy walk to restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and the Tube. Red Bus On-Off stops close by. Overall, this is a great hotel, staffed with London BEST people, amazing views, delicious food and a wonderful stay away from home!"

Zedwell Piccadilly Circus
8/10 Good
"Great shower! Beauty rooms were a bust. Overall, noisier--maybe they were herding elephants above us? But also some rumbles were surely the subway beneath-- than we had hoped, and dimmer--too dimly lit-- in common spaces. The room was sufficient, except only bring your closest confidants, the bathroom has ZERO privacy! The beds were comfortable. Price was right for us, if you don't mind the chaos of Picadilly Circus, you can spend your savings on £5 cans of Coke..."
