"Our TV and phone were both out. No staff member was able to reset them. If we hadn't had a cell phone we would not have had any outside communication. Breakfast was only scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits no additional meats. Some Danish and a waffle maker but no batter."

"Everything about this property is an absolute Wow! The host (Virginia) has created a wonderful retreat; so if you’re looking for wonderful accommodations, in a quiet setting where you can enjoy trees and water, than this is the perfect spot. The kitchen and bath are fully stocked and beds super comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the screened porch listening to the birds and watching the sun setting on the water. Communication is excellent and definitely ask about meeting the mini-donkeys! Best rental we have ever experienced! Thanks again Virginia!"

"Would not recommend, I booked a week in advance. Went to go check in, there was a sign on the door saying “not available till after 4”. We were heading back to get checked in and got an email stating we were cancelled. "

"The house is not fancy but is clean, comfortable and wonderful! The view - waterfront is amazing! We spent most of our time on the dock, reading, bird watching (there is an osprey nest right there and was so much fun to watch), happy hour, etc.! The sunrises and sunsets were incredible! You can see both from the dock! We had good late lunches on Gwens Island, in Mathews, and in Deltaville! Ate some great raw oysters!! Wish I could live here!!! "

"We have stayed at Gwynn’s Island Cottage four times now and each visit only gets better. Cheri is the most thoughtful and welcoming host — you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The Cottage has always been immaculate and has everything you could ever think to need during your stay. The views, the water, the private beach.. it’s almost surreal. We bring our dog who enjoys the beach and water as much as we do. The sunsets every night are breathtaking. With great restaurants on the island and nearby in Mathews, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect location for a getaway. We are so thankful Cheri shares her little slice of heaven and are already looking forward to our next visit!! "

"Very cute and updated waterside themed rooms. The building and facilities were immaculate. They have tried to make note of everything and it runs very efficiently even when arriving during hours when not staffed. I really liked this hotel."
