"This is not the property you're looking for. The staff is nice enough, but the property being open to the public, no hotel grade doors on the rooms (they were closet doors with no deadbolt), and no AC on a hot night is not acceptable. If you like camping, this is the place for you. Otherwise, you are getting what you're paying for. Given all the positive reviews, I was surprised when we checked in at how bad it was. The staff seemed to do what they could, and the room appeared clean, but given the safety concerns and the lack of AC, we checked out immediately. And of course, there are no refunds (they make you sign an agreement stating as much when you check in). Extremely concerning that this property continues to receive such positive reviews."

"There was a medium size cockroach inside the bathing tub and it was very stubborn to get rid of it. The front office lady blabbered something in her own accent was very hard to follow. Parking was a nightmare. You should know some gymnastics and know how to come out of the car after you parked in the tight spot. It's highly possible your car will get stuck and damaged. Good thing is it's nearer to the airport and restaurants. "

"The room was clean but felt old and kind of retro to a Howard Johnson's - for the price we felt it was more of a 2-3 star experience. Everything in the front of the hotel is super cute and nice- we stayed in the back and though the room was clean the sink bath etc were clean but not in the best shape- could see water damage etc. the staff were super nice. But for the price I would stay elsewhere. Air conditioning available but off when you arrive- same for mini fridge. We arrived in the rain and it was kind of damp and felt dingy. Lighting was good in the bathroom And sheets towels very clean. There is an additional 29$ amenity fee for filtered water. Poor coffee quality etc for that price. We parked on the street and she told us parking was part of the amenity fee."

"The place was quite clean, fresh-smelling! The unit held an air of relaxation that was perfect for our weekend getaway. We actually canceled some of our excursions to relax in the rooms. This was our first trip to Hilo and we were surprised at how close we stayed to many of our destinations. Being right off a main road made it super easy to find our way around!"

"One improvement would be to change the code from the address so we would feel more secure."

"The house was perfect for our stay in Hilo! Near grocery stores, several shops, and local sights. The house was very clean and spacious. We were especially grateful for the AC and laundry room. Maggie was very quick in responding to our questions. I would highly recommend to anyone staying in Hilo!"

"Everything was exactly as described, comfortable, close proximity to downtown, and far enough away from the busyness. It’s not two separate bedrooms but rather one bedroom and pullout bed in the family room."
