"Guest House Ouka is amazing!! The rooms and common area are very comfortable. The staff is so friendly and accomodating. They have tons of food and entertainment recommendations on the walls so I didn't have any worries about how to spend my time in Takayama. Lastly, they had unlimited free tea in the kitchen."

"Owner was very kind and prepared very good dinner even we requested in very late time. It is Japanese style room, so if you are not used to futon it might be hard. "The friendly staff greeted me at the door, spoke enough english so check-in was easy and quick. They then showed me around and proceeded to assist with carrying luggage up the stairs to my room, above and beyond customer service - as with everywhere in Japan. A nice quiet accommodation with an instant friendly warmth when you walk through the door. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay here."

"I had a wonderful stay here, 4 nights in the summer was beautiful. If you are looking for somewhere peaceful, great location, stunning scenery, perfect weather definitely book here. Great restaurants close by, I would recommend a hire car for a day or two as there is so much to explore. Will definitely stay here again if I find myself back here. Would definitybe a lot of fun here through the winter too."
