"Slightly quirky set up with coffee facilities in a kitchen/snug lounge area very nice clean rooms very accessible to the local town road can be a little bit noisy but didn’t bother me would recommend and come back myself A+"

"The property was clean and tastefully decorated. Our room was spacious and had a sitting area with a sofa. The bed was really comfortable and the bed linen and towels were very high quality. We ordered our breakfast the night before and it was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. The host was friendly and helpful. "

"I went to book into the hotel and it was closed, dark and empty. I tried to contact them on both numbers provided. Nothing. No answer, no call back. I tried all day and it was so frustrating and worrying as we had no idea where we were going to sleep that night. I left it until 5pm and then found another place to stay. Thought that perhaps something had happened and they'd be back the following day and may offer the two nights from then. Next day arrived and same fiasco. The hotel we had booked...

"I was made to feel very welcome on arrival at the Thornhill and every time we returned. The breakfast menu covered all tastes and preferences. My only problem was that we had a room on the top floor and, because of my disability, I struggled to get to my room. This was not the fault of the hotel or staff, but my own. If I go again, I will make sure to book the ground floor room."

"Nice clean rooms had to go to the old dairy directly opposite for breakfast as the pub wasn’t open Monday or Tuesday which wasn’t a problem. Lovely area and people really friendly "

"A classic pub, the building is old but it is a lovely place to stay, 2 minute walk from the starcross train station. (which also has the ferry to Exmouth) The room was clean, bright and comfortable and the owners are very accommodating. Would happily stay here again"
