"This has obviously been a grand place in days gone by. Loads of wood and a beautiful ornate glass window on the stairs. The room was comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast was very good. The bar was a bit of a let down - poorly maintained. The food there was hearty and reasonably priced."

"We had a lovely stay at The Netherwood . We had a nice meal and the room was warm and ok for the price. Plenty of choices for a delicious breakfast and the plates and food were hot. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Overall it was a nice stay as the hotel is in a good location for walking into Grange but is rather tired with some of the furniture being ready for an upgrade and other improvements. Old world charm with some interesting history."

"We really enjoyed our week here. It's in a quiet location a few minutes walk from the sea, and with a few local shops/cafe nearby, but otherwise you would need a cafe since the bus routes are not useful. Drivable to lovely places in the lake district and other sights.The house itself was really cosy, attractively furnished and with a well equipped kitchen and a good shower. The main room was a lovely sun trap and there was some nice space to sit outside. The owner was helpful and although there was a mistake on the listing, she rectified it swiftly and drove over with the missing item when we asked.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place for a family stay"
