The bed was very comfortable and the room was all to a high standard. We took a dog and they provided a bed, bowls and treats. There is plenty of free car parking. The staff were very helpful and attentive even though it was busy over the weekend we stayed."

It's in a quiet location a few minutes walk from the sea, and with a few local shops/cafe nearby, but otherwise you would need a cafe since the bus routes are not useful. Drivable to lovely places in the lake district and other sights.The house itself was really cosy, attractively furnished and with a well equipped kitchen and a good shower. The main room was a lovely sun trap and there was some nice space to sit outside. The owner was helpful and although there was a mistake on the listing, she rectified it swiftly and drove over with the missing item when we asked.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place for a family stay"

"We were met by the owners, who are a lovely welcoming couple, and it was helpful to have the workings of the Lodge explained.The lodge was beautifully presented and spacious, the twin bedrooms in particular bigger than those in other lodges we have stayed in. The kitchen area well equipped and well planned. The situation of the lodge was perfect for us, beautifully quiet whilst still have good access to the facilities. There is a lot to do in the area and the Lakes are only a short drive away.The owners certainly went the extra mile, bringing us a teapot as the lodge didn't have one! If they hadn't bothered it certainly wouldn't have detracted from the holiday - but it was really nice that they did and it was much appreciated."

"Possibly a limited audience for this cottage as it's not in a mainstream situation. But train-lovers (which we are) would love it - fabulous having the trains pull up outside your sitting room windows! (We didn't hear any train noise at night.) Golfers would also likely enjoy it. There are pleasant walks around about. Negatives: the main bedroom houses the hot water cylinder in the wardrobe, which wakes you up in the early hours of the morning, refilling and reheating. For a light sleeper it's then impossible to return to sleep, so this would definitely stop me returning. There doesn't seem to be any way of altering the timing of this. The microwave was complicated; I like cottages that put in microwaves that are simple and obvious to use! No tea / coffee provided. Lovely big TV."
