"I have to admit my heart sank when I first arrived hereon seeing the somewhat ( in my opinion) scruffy appearance which seemed not to resemble the photograph which had appeared on the website. The building looked as if it could do with a coat of paint and what had been described as a garden hardly bore any resemblance to that description.A hosepipe and other clutter was to one side of the end room. Again there were a considerable number of pretty worn picnic tables full of customers enjoying drinks and noisy children . We were shown to our room which was immaculate - and quiet! The only problem was the toilet cistern which took between 10 - 15 minutes to refill.We did mention it a couple of times to the staff but without a successful conclusion ! We arrived on a Friday evening where a local ‘ musician’ strums on a guitar! The food was excellent as were the staff particularly the young man who served us. We ate the steak and kidney suet pie which was delicious- my husband ate it the following night as it was so good! Breakfast was substantial and the service very prompt. Despite my first negative comments we did enjoy our stay here and would probably stay again should we be in this part of the world."

"Stayed one night, room only. This is a great option if staying in the area. Very pleasant reception area and helpful staff. Our room on first floor was very lcomfortable and large enough for a sofa and sitting area with TV. Spacious bathroom. The only criticism is that the fittings are a bit outdated but worked fine. The pool is nice although the jacuzzi was out of action. We didn’t use it but there is a large fitness area with all the usual equipment. Plenty of free parking out front. Excellent value with Hotels.com. "

"We treated ourselves to a night here and got a really good room rate including an excellent breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean and well equipped. All the staff were super helpful. We also had dinner on arrival and the fixed menu deal was brilliant value. Would definitely come here again."

"Overall enjoyable stay. Staff friendly and supportive. Parking easy. Room overall comfortable - radiator and heater helped warm the room. Shower needs removal of mould and descaling of shower head. Preordering breakfast worked fine and the omelette was very enjoyable. Dinner was good. Sharing starter good as was the beef stew and Bull burger. Crumble nice. Enjoyable drinks in the bar."

"This place was a dump. It smelled if sewage and the owner/manager was rude and arrogant. He sent an invoice for GBP20 for an early check-in, we were there an hour early, he gave us the key and never said a thing; good luck with that !!!. The menu was pathetic. We didn't eat there at all. Horrible experience. The room was very clean as was the bathroom, but the sewage smell was unbearable. Never again, whoever owns this place needs a new manager, if the manager is the owner this place can't possibly last long. "
