"This place was a pleasant surprise. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Continental Breakfast is included and the price was very reasonable. PLUS! There is a wonderful set of thermal pools that guests can use anytime. So relaxing right next to a river; it’s a bit of a walk but so worth it! The rooms were a little on the “well loved” side but clean and warm and a great respite from the rain. "

"For a change the online pictures do not do a property justice. This fantastic and newly renovated lodge is set in acres of spectacular and interesting grounds. Everything has been done to a very high standard, including the service, rooms and on-site dining. Set 10 or so Kms from Rotarua it avoids the "smells". Our room was one of the smaller ones and lacked a good view, but nevertheless was well appointed and very comfortable (heated floors in the bathroom - wow!!) We enjoyed our stay immensely. Nothing at all to complain about here - would highly recommend Hana Lodge and wish them a successful future. "
