Great for families: Lots of room for the kids to play and highchair and Pack-n-Play available upon request.
Each bedroom features something special: The Queen bedroom located on the 1st level has a wonderful valley view of Lake Tahoe. The third bedroom on the 1st level, the west Queen bedroom has a private entrance connected to the front stoop and covered stairs that lead to driveway/garage. The Queen master bedroom, located on the 2nd level of the home, provides lovely views of Twin Peaks.
The second floor offers a fully equipped kitchen and two dining areas. Just off of the kitchen, the living area has cozy plush furnishings, a high definition smart TV, a Blu-Ray DVD player, and satellite broadband internet. Great location away from the traffic. Layout of the property helped the family stay connected in the living space. Plenty of room around the table for 8-10 to play board games, eat, or socialize.
This property is excellent - well maintained, well laid out, great light and has an awesome mud room in the entry way. Equally excellent is the location - so beautiful, and with an unexpected direct view of Lake Tahoe from the deck. Property group who manages the property were responsive, gracious and very accommodating. We will be back.
We stayed here with 2 families with teenagers on ski trip. Loved the home and location. Nicely appointed house in remote great secluded location. Only problem was not enough snow to have back side open so had to drive all the way to front side. Beware this takes 40 minutes!
Would love to come back when more snow!
Loved this stay in the mountains with beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. House was perfect for 8 of us (2 families). Plenty of space and a cozy main room to hangout.
Really enjoyed that the house was set away from the lake and ski resort. It felt very isolated and quiet with a quick walk to be in the forest. Convenient drive to get to Palisades or Tahoe city for skiing and dining.
Seamless check in and overall experience. Would highly recommend!

Reviewer Comments:
This property was specifically chosen to provide a quiet, beautiful place to enjoy nature and solitude. It was perfect! There are other homes in the area, but they are widely spaced. The view from every window was lovely, and trail access points are nearby for hiking. The house is well-appointed and comfortable. A great choice!

Spacious home for large groups with all necessities. It’s like living in a very comfortable tree house. I can’t recall if # of stairs was disclosed prior to rental but It should have been clearly pointed out (since one of our guests recently had a stroke) but you didn’t know that. Hauserman staff are great to work with.

We had an excellent stay at the Alpine Retreat house. The Ward Valley is a beautiful location and the house is an easy walk to the back side of Alpine. I particularly appreciated the management staff was available very responsive to a couple minor inquiries such as replacing the parking pass the previous guests forgot to leave in the house. Thank all for all for a great stay!

Reviewer Comments:
My small gathering of 3 couples had a great time staying at this beautiful home. The house was clean, organized, and there was not a single issue. We would definitely stay here again.
The views were incredible! The home was well maintained and equipped with everything needed for a relaxing vacation, including a hot tub to soak those tired muscles after a day on the slopes. A 5 minute walk to the Sherwood lift, incredible!
We had a wonderful stay at this house as it was near the Sherwood Lift even though it is in a remote neighborhood far from the Alpine resort itself. With the new gondola from Alpine to Pallisades it was fun to access the two resorts from the lift down the street. Great kitchen, bedrooms and loft space and a fun main area and deck. Hot tub was great to have as well. Loved this home and will definitely return.

Location, location, location!!!
Beautiful place! Very well equipped, close to groceries store, convenient stores, gas station, restaurants, cute shops and fun activities for the little ones. Not to mention that is located at walking distance from the Alpine Ski Area. Unfortunately, we didn't get to ski as much as we wanted do to the bad weather condition and the snow storm we had during our stay, but we had a wonderful time staying at home, relaxing and playing lots of board games. Oh, and being a pet friendly property it is a plus!
Thank you!
Our stay was absolutely magical. I can’t say enough about this lovely home. It was spacious but also felt very cozy. The bedrooms were all quiet lovely with soft pillow tops and warm comforters. We were thrilled to find the garage well stocked with firewood and the kitchen was also quite well equipped. And we had a stunning view of the lake from the balcony. Best of all was the location. Our sons could walk up the street and catch the Sherwood Express chair lift. They went snowboarding almost every day 😊.
Great cabin outside of Tahoe City - Great access to Alpine Meadows
A nice, big cabin that can comfortably fit 8-10.
Incredible access to the backside of Alpine Meadows. Not quite ski in/ski out, but an easy walk to the end of the road to get to the Sherwood express lift. A dream for a group with folks focused on skiing.
Some other highlights:
-Great hot tub
-Good amount of bathrooms
-Nicely appointed kitchen. Nothing super fancy, but really practical and usable. We cooked some great meals.
-Good access to outdoor areas (lower patio with hot tub, upper deck with grill and views)
-oh yeah did I mention the view. Can see beautifully down the valley and a small piece of the lake. Fantastic
-easy to work with the property manager. They were communicative, well prepared, and professional
Some things to be aware of:
-15 minute drive into town. If your trying to be walkable to the “downtown” area, maybe not the right fit
-if the Sherwood lift wasn’t open, would be more of a challenge to get to the ski base area, would need to drive 30 mins and park
-Similar with many houses around Tahoe, lots of stairs. Might be hard for someone who struggles with stairs, although there is a master on the main floor
Overall fantastic. Would book again!

We had a ski trip planned for what was expected to be a blizzard weekend. Overall we decided to go even if we couldn't ski, because a mountain cabin in the snow is just as fun. The place was excellent, had everything we needed, including a LOT of firewood which made it very cozy. Would definitely rent here again for the house and also proximity to the Lift.
Renting this gorgeous property was the most seamless process I've experienced and I appreciate all of the updates and quick responses to any questions I had.
