"Overall it was a very nice stay, the room (Sienna) was luxurious with excellent kitchen facilities a really comfy, big bed and a nice looking terrace (although the rain put paid to using it). It is situated perfectly with great independent eateries and bars within a short walk. Parking is a little difficult and if there were some way of communicating exactly when a space would be free that would be more convenient. The lack of a working freezer compartment was the only other downside although...

"Location was different to what's on the map (it's right next door to the New County Hotel). The apartment was lovely though, looks like it's been recently refurbished and was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was very well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. £250 damage deposit seemed quite excessive. Not sure if they get a lot of trouble as housekeeping also came in during stay but didn't do any cleaning, make beds, or fold towels etc (I only knew they'd been because they folded...

"I cannot recommend highly enough. Simon was on call 24/7 and the information pack was so informative. The only time I had to contact Simon was to ask for an additional 3 nights stay (that says a lot about my enjoyment there), and to check where the recycling bins were which was my stupidity."

"General stay was good, hotel was nice and clean. However access was a pain due to the dedicated app they use to access the property. I never initially received the email for activating and nor did anothe couple. Which led to a bit of a wait. Stay lets quickly remedied this however."

"The main road is noisy until the traffic dies down later on in the evening. The metal framed windows, even when shut, let through a high volume of road traffic noise. It was a period of unusually high temperatures by day and night when we stayed and the room we stayed in was in the loft space and therefore really warm and so the windows had to be kept open most of the time. This is by no means a complaint merely a note for other people who stay in the loft apartment who may not be as comfortable...

"I didn’t exactly know what I was letting myself in for when I booked into The Shepherd’s Lodge but it was actually a pleasant experience and it provided exactly what I was looking for i.e. a comfortable place to lay my head at night and have a cup of tea and few quiet hours after a long day at a Folk Music Festival. The only problems I encountered were due to the weather and therefore beyond anyone’s control. "

As per description, this is a small flat...makes a perfect base of operations if you plan to be out seeing the sights and don't need to worry about staying in / entertaining. "Sean was the best host. So helpful. He suggested dinner at a great pub in town. The house was clean and well stocked - even some food in the kitchen. The garden was charming. Absolutely no complaints at all. Will definitely return if we return to this part of England."
