"We come to the Swan's Nest most years and have always been delighted with our stay. This year the visit was marred by our experience on the last night. We were asked to leave the restaurant and go to the Bear at about 10.35 the Bear asked us to move on to the Hotel Foyer at 11.00 where we were subjected to a very unpleasant man taking pictured of us and when we objected getting very confrontational. The hotel staff managed to stop an actual affray and called the Police who took a statement the...

"We were really disappointed on arrival as the hotel was covered in scaffolding and the entrance looked much more like a 1970s multi-storey carpark than a 4* hotel. The stairs (the lift was out of order), reception area and room were very dated. The soundproofing in the bathroom was non-existent (my wife could hear everything next door). Having said that the beds were comfortable, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok."

"Really enjoyed our little overnighter here. Absolutely stunning building. Nice size room with high ceiling in gorgeous Tudor style. Bed comfy nice bedding. Read some bad reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Yes the carpet is a little old and the chair by the window but it’s all part of the charm. Large modern bathroom. Only negative was a little dust on the windowsills nothing to ruin a lovely comfy night sleep and lovely staff at check in too"
