As was the various fruits from their garden. Easy travel to numerous places including Stourhead and the Fleet Air Arm Museum. Great hosts highly recommended."

"History on the doorstep with the rained castle. Complete with moat. Lovely pretty small village. Not an extensive menu. Very tasty and well cooked food. Very attentive service. Seating inside and outside by the stream. We had the basic twin bedded room. Which was as the room suggests basic. Very clean and comfortable bed. "

"We were very surprised. The welcome we received was good. The room is basic but very clean and we had a very good night sleep. The bed was very comfortable which is very important. The restaurant/pub downstairs is dog friendly and they have their own dog menu. The staff were very approachable, friendly and helpful. Location is great for Longleat and Stonehenge both of which are close. We will return next year to visit longleat. "

"A very charming and remodelled village hotel with an excellent restaurant - locals and travelers alike are welcome. Chef creates new dishes depending the daily food availability - mostly local - organic and fresh. Room was very nice, clean and had a new wonderful bathroom with walk in shower. Breakfast made to order plus smaller buffet for yoghurt, juices, cereals. We would come back anytime."
