"We didn’t have breakfast or use the bar. The only recommendation I would like to see is new windows. The windows are old and not double glazed so it is very noisy at night. "

"When searching for the room I stated that I would be travelling with my son. We got to the where there was a double bed and a blow up bed. I asked the host for a duvet and pillow. Response there are two pillows on the bed just use one of those and for a duvet we were presented with a base sheet and a cover for a duvet. We attempted to blow the bed up to find it was a double and as there was hardly enough room for a single it was of no use. Even though I had been in regular contact with the host. The shared bathroom with other rooms was showing its age. The paint was peeling off the walls and drapes were used to cover this up. I would not recommend this room to anybody and I will not be using this again. "

"The room was clean, but not what we expected. We were given an accessible room, even though I had not booked that, and when we asked if it was possible to switch we were given a multitude of reasons why we shouldn’t. Upon check in, our first encounter with the staff member present felt strange. We were asked if we had stayed there previously, we hadn’t, we were asked how we got there, by cab, we were told when breakfast was served and given our room keys. What we were not told was that you needed to put the key in a slot to activate the lights in the room. We went back to the front desk to say that none of our lights worked, a staff member went and checked our room, and told us everything was fine with the lights, but no other information. We went back to our room and figured it out ourselves after a while. (This may be common in Europe but we had not encountered it yet on our travels) We could also hear everything the person/ people next door to us were doing (walking, moving stuff, etc.). The breakfast was very good and a great price, everything was clean. In the future it would be helpful for more information to be given to first time visitors. "

"This could be a lovely property & appears to have been recently renovated to a good standard. However it is let down by several maintenance issues (one bedroom & bathroom window not opening or closing properly, bedroom door not closing, broken and ill-fitting toilet seat), and the quality of the mattresses and bedding which was really poor when compared to the most basic Premier Inn/Travelodge. Although the host was very responsive, this was only after chasing check-in details the day before our booking & he would not have been able to resolve the key issues in the few days we were there. The cottage seemed quite clean in general, but there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and the oven was filthy. There is also a pub 20 yards away with people drinking outside on the Friday night & live music on the Saturday, so the only bedroom window that did open had to stay closed because of the noise. Altogether not what we would have expected from this listing when we booked, and we left a day early. The host has several property ‘rules’ including external cameras to monitor anyone smoking on the patio - we were tempted to write our own guest ‘rules’ including maintenance checks and a little more TLC & home comforts"
