"The Lodge was so surprising. Being on the Cathedral grounds, it evokes a sense of tranquility and calm. That feeling does not extend past the walls of the ground. The breakfasts were amazing. The staff was most accommodating. Everything was within the radius of the Lodge and walking to places was easy. The only thing that disappointed was that the standard double room has a tiny bed which was caused a snug bed-share challenge. It worked out. We're glad we chose that accommodation."

"We arrived on the hottest weekend of the year and our room had no AC. However, the staff had prepared the room the best they could, a fan, curtain closed etc. and it was fine. We were in the refurbished side and the room was lovely, clean and modern. The breakfast buffet wasn’t great - limited continental and low quality hot items. Staff were friendly and efficint. I would recommend this hotel for its lovely room, parking and close to town."

"When we arrived to check in the room was not ready. Turns out they were not even aware of our booking until we showed it to them. We then had to wait two hours whilst the owner came to the property to get the room ready. Waiting outside in the side proved to be a disaster as their outdoor table and chair was covered in a black bitumen type substance that got all over the bottom of my trousers and completely ruined them. "Modern property, clean, and extremely convenient for access to Central Canterbury. Staff were particularly helpful and professional, 24 hour bar with some food. Excellent breakfast. Parking is located a 5 minute walk away as the hotel is a pedestrian area. Good local restaurants and tea shops are a short walk."
