" If you want a unique hotel experience this is a fantastic real ancient interesting property in a very quiet rural location. We had a spacious apartment, large bedroom with king size bed, large sitting room with period furniture to match the setting - with mod cons flat screen TV and wi-fi - also small kitchen with all the requirements for a continental breakfast including chilled items in a fridge and bathroom with shower. The property is surrounded by large garden areas and woodland with a stream running through it. The hosts David and Renatta were very pleasant and helpful, taking our luggage to our room and giving us the required info for our apartment and a brief history of the castle. The castle is a short drive from St Andrews, as the castle is not signposted the host David will send you detailed directions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stravithie Castle and would highly recommend the experience. "
