"Great location, just off the A75 between Gretna (15miles) and Dumfries (10miles). Secluded to give some quite time away from the hussle and bussle of day to day. The hotel is finished to a very good standard and give you a feeling of staying in a property of excellence. Rooms are spacious, clean and inviting. Food avail in the restaurant and the bar - both serving good quality and value."

"Our room was big and very comfortable and the mini fridge with water and fresh milk was a nice touch. The shower door was a bit dodgy and needs looking at. Breakfast choice and quality was excellent and all cooked to order. Service was pleasant and efficient. We found a free parking space directly opposite the hotel and, even though it is on the main road through Moffat, we didn't find it noisy or too busy to cross the road. If you were there for long enough, it's worth noting that the Edinburgh bus leaves from outside the hotel making a day trip to the capital possible without using the car. We would use this hotel again if in the area."

We were expecting a comfortable stay, good hospitality, quiet surroundings, easy parking… and that is EXACTLY what we got. Zero complaints and would happily book again if in the area."

"Hands down, the highlight of our trip! The castle itself was everything you’d want in a castle. Our host was very quick to answer and questions and made sure we didn’t have any issues. I was even impressed with the WiFi, pretty solid throughout the entire building. You can’t go wrong staying here. "
