"Hotel La Colonna is a lovely hotel with a

set in gardens but it’s the location that is a problem. It is set on a main through road on the outskirts of Siena. You will have to bus or taxi into the centre. Buses don’t run at night. We did eat at a lovely family run Italian pizza restaurant close by and there are a few other eateries but you are limited. "Beds were comfy, sheets and towels were clean. A tea towel and dishwashing sponge / washing up liquid would have been useful, but the chalet was otherwise well equipped for basic cooking. Nice pizzeria and mini market on site with fresh bread and croissants daily as well as most other essential items. Good sized swimming
