The Stockbridge Country Inn Closest B&B to Norman Rockwell Museum and Chesterwood

"My stay at Diane’s bed and breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Diane herself is incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely informative — she made the entire experience feel personal and cared for. The room was quaint, cozy, and charming in that classic New England way, with comfortable beds, plenty of towels, and a generous selection of bath amenities that made settling in effortless. Breakfast was a standout: a truly amazing cook‑to‑order meal that felt both homemade and high‑end. Every dish was fresh, delicious, and clearly prepared with pride. Parking was plentiful and convenient, making arrival and departure stress‑free. Overall, this B&B is a gem — comfortable, inviting, and thoughtfully run. I’d happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing stay."

"We have stayed here several times. It is a perfect spot for enjoying the Berkshires!! It is close to Tanglewood, all of the theaters and wonderful places to eat. The hosts are wonderful. We feel like this is our home in the Berkshires"
General Williams Estate House Lenox/Stockbridge

"The home was in a great location to explore Berkshire County. The house was spacious and great for our family reunion with each of us having our own rooms and almost all bedrooms had en suite bathrooms. The house did have its quirks, as one might expect for a very old home. But we all enjoyed its character, including the robin’s nest outside one of the windows. A few things that any renter should be aware of. You do hear traffic noise on Rte 7. It’s a trade-off for being close to everything. Bring layers in the summer! All of us were freezing in the AC and the temperature control was locked. We couldn’t make it warmer. So despite it being summer, we all had on sweaters, fleece jackets and long pants while inside. Also, be aware of that the home is only supplied with minimal towels (1 body towel, 1 hand towel and 1 face cloth) per person. There were no extras. And there are no towel bars to hang towels to dry. No bath mats to step out of showers. Only 2 dish towels in the kitchen. There were no pool towels. Also, supplies for guests are minimal. We suggest asking for the list of what is and isn’t supplied well ahead of time to be prepared. While there were closets in most bedrooms, there were no coat hangers. We had a few issues while we were there and the local handy man was responsive and friendly. We appreciated his help.We all had fun celebrating a milestone birthday and gathering as a family."

"We love the beautiful Taggart River House! This was our second stay--eight of us really enjoyed our return visit to Stockbridge, Tanglewood and the Berkshires. The location is superb--walking distance to downtown Stockbridge can never be overrated. Short drives to everything else make this property ideal. Super responsive and helpful hosts! Very clean, well-appointed rooms and facilities, more than ample parking and easy-to-follow house rules and recommendations. Pictures are accurate. You will love it!"
Historic Stockbridge Villa on 25 acres

"Fabulous hosts - Very informative, responsive, and accurate. House is large and typical-old-family-house quirky. The furnishings include lots of very thoughtful items such as games, thousands of books, well equiped kitchen, AC and abundant fans, etc, We found it served our multi-generational family clan wonderfully. The spaces worked with the older more impaired, as well as our youngest - 16 months. There is plenty of room to spread out and equally great spaces to gather. The area is full of wonderful historic and artistic sites, cultural offerings and nice food options. House is perhaps not for guests seeking 'glam', but perfect for a relaxing large gathering. A Plus all around. Delighted with our visit and looking forward to a return. Kudos to our hosts."
Hearth House | Prime Location!

"This property was better than expected! The photos don’t do it justice. It was ideal for my husband and me to share with our son and small granddaughter with them having their privacy upstairs, but ample room for us to all be together downstairs, and a wonderful bedroom suite for us. The yard and patio are lovely. We so appreciated the ample supplies provided (at some rentals we’ve had to run to a store to augment things that ran out) and the well appointed kitchen. We love the area and we’re only sorry our stay wasn’t long enough to take full advantage of everything on and off site. My only suggestion is that the information provided upon leaving would be helpful to have upfront, particularly because some things mentioned differed from information in the handbook on the property, and it would help to plan better for day of departure. Oh, and communication was terrific with Jayren being very responsive to any questions."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Taggart House - what a memorable place! We are five couples who get together every other year and this was the perfect place for us. There are so many things to mention: the feeling of staying in this gracious and historic home; the care with which it has been restored; the ability to accommodate all five couples in lovely, comfortable rooms (with en suites) that pleased us all; the size and usability of the well-stocked kitchen; the gracious dining room that could seat our entire group; the fun (and oft-used) billiards room; the wonderful sun porch that opened up to the beautiful back yard; and the easy proximity to so many of the historic places that the Berkshires has to offer. Well done Caitlin and George!I speak for our group in saying that we would not hesitate to recommend the Taggart House to others planning to visit the area - and we hope to return for another memorable stay."

"2 empty nester couples visiting on a rainy weekend. House was exactly as advertised. Beautiful decor & comfortable furnishings. Communication with host excellent. Walkable to village of Stockbridge which was great. Host provided excellent recommendations on local attractions especially valuable on dreary weather. Highly recommend to adults, will return if in area."
