"Our room was done very beautifully and artistically and overlooked the Sassi Barisano for a great view. The bathroom is American sized and the room contained a large closet and cute balcony. It sits on a main piazza just a couple minutes to any of the major sites. Mimmo was an excellent host and even if we said the room didn’t need to be cleaned since we were staying only two nights, he had it cleaned anyway. We enjoyed our stay!"

"We stayed in one of the cave rooms for 2 nights. Loved this place.! Location is perfect! Everything is within walking distance. Also there is a rooftop patio where you can enjoy a glass of wine while admiring the sunset and Matera. Francisco makes this place extra special. His enthusiasm for Matera is infectious. "This place is awesome. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the city that was incredible. Yes, the room is small but considering your in a building that is hundreds and hundreds of years old, maybe thousand of years, who cares! You have a window overlooking the 3rd oldest city in the world! Yes, it is about a15 minute walk from the parking garage to the hotel but you have to walk everywhere in Matera anyway, and once you make a turn close to the hotel and see the city for the first time , it will be all worth it. Suggest packing a couple of backpacks with everything need like we did. Would advise against trying to wheel large suitcases over the uneven pavement and stairs."
