"We had the most incredible time here- our only wish is that we had more time! We loved all of the amenities- blown away by service of the staff! We had a room upgrade which was so special, we loved the view of the bridge from our room so much we stayed in for room service so we could enjoy it! We had the best stay and can’t wait to come back again! "

"Long, solo weekend prior to a conference in town. The Alton was perfect! Great location to walk to many things, very clean and comfortable and safe location. San Fran gets a bad rap, other than driving through some rough streets to get to the hotel from the airport, I walked all over and it was not at all like the few streets we drove by. Much cleaner (typical level of cleanliness for a city of this size and some neighborhoods were excellent) than your led to believe from the news and extremely safe. I was out walking around from 9am to 7pm most nights and only took a car at night because it was cold. The Alton was a great location and the restaurant there is incredible. Would stay there again."

"Nice hotel in a good location. Walking distance to Fishermans wharf and most other main areas. We had a lovely room, very clean, had everything we needed plus the bonus of a view of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge which was fab! Reception staff were friendly and helpful, especially Eva. Had the bonus of a breakfast included which was plentiful and had a good choice of juices, teas & coffee, cereal, toast, waffle making station, microwave for porridge etc as well as some hot food, usually a variation of eggs (scrambled, fried etc) with either bacon or sausages. We had a great stay here and I would definitely recommend! "

"Lovely hotel with great service. Really enjoyed the hospitality and attention to detail from the staff. Rooms are spacious and super comfy. Restaurant is fantastic and the location couldn’t be better. Can walk from the ferry so is super convenient. My only constructive comments would be: 1. Replace the ac units in the room as they are really loud and can’t hear the tv at a normal volume; and 2. Please remove use of plastics, for example, the room has plastic cups wrapped in plastic. Overall wonderful staff with friendly staff who made a difference."
