I would stay at the Washington Inn again. The location is superb, a block or two from the heart of North Beach, but it was completely quiet at night. The price was very good for SF. However, you should know that the hotel is pretty rough around the edges. Shower handle a bit funky, carpet very worn in spots, aging tiles, mattress hardly in its first youth (but we slept well). If you want the bathroom in your room as opposed to across the hall, make sure to reserve ensuite.

The property is located in a very safe and eye appealing location. The hotel is a throwback to the 60's. The ONLY thing that has to change - the carpet. I stayed in 2 rooms, and I had several work mates with me. We all stated the same - the carpet was filthy. Bathrooms were clean, beds were very nice and the rooms are on the smaller side...but the location suited our needs.

The hotel is super convenient and very clean. Rooms are on the smaller end, but still plenty of room. Having Washington Square Park right out the door is amazing! There is no elevator, but we knew that ahead of time. We will definitely be back!

The “concept” is very modern, but all sorts of ages of people choose to stay at this facility and some people are not versed in how to access the entry/ check in process— which was just plain inconvenient. Everything else as far as location and cleaning and such, was fine. You should have staff, just that simple.

Convenient location. Lots of Italian restaurants. Walking distance to Chinatown and the Financial District and the coast. Housekeeping is very helpful. Room is a bit small and cramped. There is no air conditioning. Walls have signs of water damage. Bathroom ceiling and walls have mold.

This is one of the funnest locations to stay in the city! North Beach is safe, clean and great access to all the best restaurants. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here!

In the heart of North Beach

This place is very cute and comfortable and in a wonderful location right in the middle of North Beach and all its great shops and Italian bakeries, cafes, and restaurants. The room was small but comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. There is no front desk service but when I had some questions they were quick to respond to email, text, and phone call. I would definitely stay here again!

Comfortable stay, great location!

Our travel was business and it was my first experience staying in a keyless Inn in the US. Everything went very well, and communication by text messaging was not a problem at all. Any questions I had were responded to immediately. The room was small, and my only thought was wishing there was a chair to sit on in there. The lounge common area provided that space and the coffee/tea counter was clean, offering everything needed. The bonus of our stay was the location! It is out of the bustle of the downtown area, easy pick up by Uber, and walking distance to outstanding eateries in Little Italy or Chinatown. HUGE!
