The Five Bells
10/10 Excellent
"Right from Check-in, Mary and her staff made me feel very welcome. Mary was very helpful at every turn even going above and beyond. The room was very good size and very clean. Perfect place to stay!"
"The hotel and gardens are beautiful - immaculate garden perfect for a pre dinner cocktail. Was very impressed with the decor and high standard of furnishings - should be a wedding venue or offer cream teas. We had an amazing dinner - cannot fault the food or drink!! "
"We had a very pleasant stay at The Bell Hotel. The room was nice, simple and everything we needed.
Beautiful breakfast and we enjoyed the bar.
Would love to return! "
"Stayed on a Friday night as we were at a family do. Perfect for us. Had the twin. Both beds comfortable - one softer than the other. Had everything we needed. There's limited on site parking but wasn't an issue for us as road restrictions finish early evening and there's no restrictions on the Sunday. The owner was attentive and helpful. Information sheet was perfect.
The breakfast was excellent! "
"The property was of an ideal size for us and our 15 months baby. It is very quite, surrounded by fruit trees orchards and farm fields.
Despite arriving later than expected, Steve was present to welcome us and brief us on the house an surroundings.
The cottage is in good condition, especially the kitchen and bathroom that look almost new. The kitchen is very well equipped.
We even had the pleasant surprise of finding fresh milk, local apple juice and cross buns which were great for our first breakfast.
Tina and Steve provided us with a travel cot bed, high chair and baby bath for our son. This was very helpful and we didn’t need to bring ours for the long weekend.
They are many toys, games and books available to borrow in the laundry room, and for all ages. Even for adults with a badminton set. And lots of space outside to play.
The colourful fishes in the pond (protected by a fence so safe for children) are huge and very feisty and noisy when eating and we enjoyed watching them.
It is a very good base to explore the area with so many places to visit within a 30 minutes drive (Canterbury, Broadstairs etc…).
We definitely recommend the place and won’t hesitate to go back."

8/10 Good
"We had a great stay in this beautiful, old property which had a lot of character. Ideally situated for restaurants, walks and the river. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable weekend away and we enjoyed many walks around Sandwich. Nice to have a bath as well as a shower! "
"I booked a deluxe double but wouldn't class our room as deluxe . The wardrobe base had collapsed, the large sash window was held open by a plastic coat hanger & there seemed to be mould in the corner of the
ceiling . Staff were friendly & the breakfast was very tasty. The bedroom needs redecorating. "
