The apartment was roomy and well appointed and Siobhan our host had provided some thoughtful welcome items in the fridge which were well appreciated. Just one little thing you could of put 2 small towels in the room instead of one and we could of had shower gel on the second night as we used it up the first night I didn’t spoil our weekend just thought I would point it out Thank up for our time with you"

"A characterful hotel in a great location. Our room was very spacious and in the old part of the hotel, full of old beams and quirky corners. Bed was large and comfortable. Lighting was a bit lacking and because we faced onto the street it was not suitable to have the blinds and curtains open. The restaurant had a great aspect facing onto the river and grounds. Breakfast was OK and fairly standard fayre, but plenty of choice and supply. Staff all very friendly and helpful Very convenient for...

"Really lovely break, room was clean and of a good standard, breakfast option excellent as was the staff. Only downside was the building works and workmen outside our window, a little unsightly and workmen very unexpected. Everything else perfect. Definitely worth a visit, in the centre of the city with everything on your doorstep."

"I really loved the Red Lion, the whole place is truly well kept, the furniture and the decorations including the lovely framed prints are all amazing and the whole atmosphere is very welcoming and cosy. My room was very clean and reasonably spacious. I could not recommend the Red Lion more watmly. Very happy customer. Many thanks to the corteous staff too!"
