"Wow - we have just checked out from a 1 night stay at this Yoshida Sanso and we were truly amazed at both the place itself and even more so the lovely people that looked after us so well! We are celebrating our honeymoon in Japan and the family who run the Ryokan couldn’t have done more to make our stay a more memorable one! "Nice spacious rooms. Rate 8/10 as unfortunately we couldn't find the wifi they provided. Host speaks little English and check-in is after 15.00 (left our bags there first). Ready bath and kitchen amenities, take Exit 6 at Demachiyanagi station and walk towards the main road (shrine rooftops), use the second temple gates. Recommended to use with "Keihan Kyoto-Osaka Day Passes" for subway line transportation directly from Osaka and other major stations on south and east Kyoto."

"This is a traditional ryokan, and my second stay. First time was back in 2016 by myself. This time came here to stay with my wife. Bery friendly staff. I had a much better experience first time around, two ladies came and showed me how to change into a yukata and prepared my bed. Everything was more personal, this time they were a little busy. Too many guests. Still amazing experience. You can reserve the onsen for yourself privately. The dinner experience is a little expensive but worth it. "

"This was listed as adults only which I interpreted as no kids. I booked 7 nights and included the $2/day in-breakfast. It soon became clear this small and nice hotel was suitable for couples as well with not only daily rates but partial day rates; this apparently is fairly common in Japan with the "adults only" tag. The staff was not well versed in English, but all communications were successful. The staff was very kind and accommodating too. The room was very nice, comfortable, and well...

"The Hotel Grandvia Kyoto was a beautiful and convenient spot for our brief stay in Kyoto. The three person room was spacious with wonderful amenities. The breakfast buffet was expansive and tasty. The staff was ever gracious. Being basically in the train station was highly convenient and, if desired, one could do some serious shopping in the nearby mall."
