"Firstly, the hotel, staff and amenities are really good.
The reason for my low score was the noise from the weddings. It was unbearable. I was in Wakefield on a business trip. I received an email a couple of days before to say there would be a wedding on the first night of my stay. When I arrived I was told that there was going to be a wedding on both days.
The wedding marquee was right outside my window. It was so loud that I couldn’t even hear the tv which was a metre or so away from me....

Hotel could do with updating but for the price and the fact there’s a pub with excellent food it’s good value

"At check in staff member was kind enough to let us check in early. Room was nice and had everything we needed, smelled very fusty and damp though. Before booking, we checked food service times as we knew we would need to eat quite late, this was shown as 9pm on their website and hotel.com. we tried to order at half past 8 and were told kitchen was closed. There is nothing else around so we had to get a taxi to and from the nearest tescos for a meal deal"
"A nice travellers rest inn, we had a very spacious ground floor room with an equally spacious ensuite, the room was a little noisy early evening, but was generally quiet overnight. Well located in the centre of Bakewell close to all the town has to offer. The adjoining pub has a great atmosphere with excellent food and drinks. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating."
