"The rooms are well equipped for what you need, the bed was comfortable and clean and there’s a kettle with tea and coffee. There is a working TV with a good selection of channels and a nice clean bathroom. We stayed for one night before catching an early flight and had our tea in the bar. Food was good and the staff were lovely and friendly. The staff on arrival were lovely and welcoming and we were given a room on the 2nd floor which is accessible by lift as well as stairs. One member of staff in particular was incredible - Natalie. Once we’d landed in Crete we realised that my daughter’s elephant had not made the journey with us, I rang the hotel and Natalie went above and beyond to help us locate him. Once she had found him she facilitated a reunion and was even willing to get him posted somewhere for us. As luck would have it we had someone staying at the hotel a week later who could collect and bring him here, but during that week Natalie sent us emails and photos of Elephant enjoying his stay at the Britannia Hotel Newcastle Airport, which really helped when my daughter was asking for him! Thank you for a lovely stay and for the fantastic service after our departure ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"Room was spotlessly clean Facilities a bit tired and dated Hotel is going through refurbishment at present. Unfortunately our room hadn’t been done yet Only 1 seat in the room and it was very tired No shared room/lounge so nowhere to sit to read / relax"

"Staff were very welcoming and friendly and the rooms were immaculate. Breakfast and dinner was delicious, great selection for both although didnt get our drinks until we finished our meal. Downstairs bar was closed which was disappointing as had to keep going upstairs to purchase drinks while we enjoyed the games area. Could have happily spent all day in the pool area so relaxing well looked after, staff so friendly."

"We really enjoyed our stay for two nights at Battlesteads. Two things really stood out - the food was excellent (except chips - a minor thing), and the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming without being overbearing. The last point, about how all staff were nice to interact with, was a major selling point and is why we will return. A special shout out to Dan ("Dan, Dan, the beverage man") for being so helpful and recommending Flyte - a top tip! Ad Gefrin sold two bottles to us as a result! Such a pleasant time, great food, and drink, and an impressive walking guide (which we used) and an observatory on the door step!"

"Room Essentials provided. Lacked bedside shelf or table. Had to stand on stool to open only small window. Plenty of tea, coffee, milk etc. shower fine. Very clean. Could do with a chair. Fan provided but not used. Parking behind hotel. Could see car from room. Breakfast very good. 8.3am last time a bit early for us. Felt we got good value. Didn't need to have other meals there or use bar but premises spacious, nice decor, menu looked fine and staff very friendly and helpful."
