"Great stay for 6 days nights. Great friendly staff and the food and beer are solid. Fabalous view of lake arenal. The grounds are hilly and steep in some places, but couple of very nice trails. Lots of animals: dogs, cows, goats etc which for me is always welcome. The owner J.P. is a riot and great to talk to. Wealth of knowledge about the area and Costa Rica in general. "

"Stayed one night at Tityra Lodge, Monteverde, and it was a lovely experience. The property is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature, making it a perfect spot to relax after exploring the area. The stay itself was comfortable and the highlight was definitely the delicious breakfast in the morning. Even though it was just a short stay, it was memorable and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Monteverde."

Most excursions will NOT pick up from this property, as it is out of the way. We had a rental car, so everything worked out. Driving to this location is not for the faint of heart. "Hotel Sanctuarium deserves high praises. The property is absolutely stunning from the moment you pull in to the front gate to the welcoming staff waiting for you at the door. "The setting is honestly breathing! Surrounded by lush landscape and incredible views of the volcano, you feel completely immersed in nature. You wake up and immediately appreciate how beautiful and peaceful everything is. That said, the location does come with a bit of a trade-off. It’s quite far from town and most excursions, so getting around requires some planning (and time). If you’re hoping to pop in and out easily, this might not be the most convenient option. "It was just extremely dated it looked like the Flintstones designed and decorated it. The pool could be nicer and better tbh, however the view was incredible!! I also believe they can have a nicer and indoor breakfast area; especially because it rains a lot and it was wet and out in the open. "

"Secluded location (right down the road from the Monteverde Cloud Forest) with beautiful views of the mountains. Walked into town, which was quite a hike but hiking was the reason for my trip to begin with! Santa Elena is very picturesque with plenty of amenities and catching a cab ride back to my hotel was no problem. Wish they would have had a safe in the room, but other than that i would highly recommend! "
