"In short, if you are planning on a few days, a week, or even longer in Hana Town, you are the kind of person who will love this bungalow.Hana Ocean Palms Bungalow is a place to settle in for a while when exploring the southeast side of Maui. The grounds have a very tropical forest atmosphere. The birds and mongoose scurrying in and out of the banana plants, Hawaiian Ginger everywhere, other types of palms with ferns and orchids high in the air, just a very comfortable place to sit and take it all in after a long day of hiking the Pipiwai Trail, ʻOheʻo Gulch (Seven Sacred Pools) and plenty of sightseeing. Speaking of sightseeing, Waioka Pond (the infamous Venus Pool) is just a fifteen-minute walk.The inside is rustic and comfortable. The kitchen is small but has everything you might need. The bedrooms and beds are very nice, but the bed out on the enclosed front porch was amazing! Albert, the host, is great. If you have the chance to meet him, you will be better off for it. Thank you again Albert!"

"Listing was accurate, the place was clean and in a good location. Host warns you about it being in a tropical rainforest with bugs and they are not lying! Be prepared to see bugs. But be smart and don't leave food out or trash in the unit. Also check the fridge, I found a little cricket hanging out in the door shelf :). The place was nice and comfortable and I appreciated having access to beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels. Thanks for that. The mattresses on both inside beds are very soft so I didn't find them very comfortable. I would have liked a firmer mattress option to get better sleep. "

"Sam and Mercury have curated a beautiful oasis in the Hāna rainforest region that anyone would be lucky to stay at. They are so welcoming to all guests and give you all the privacy during your stay but are there to help with anything you could possibly need. The accommodations are too beautiful for pictures and so serene and peaceful. It is a little slice of heaven. The location is also perfect for any adventures you want to go on in the Hāna region. We would happily stay here again in a heartbeat if we got the chance. "

"We loved staying at Hale Ulu Lulu. Sweet and comfortable cottage had everything we needed. Location was perfect. So close to Hamoa Beach and we loved seeing the ocean and hearing the surf. Wonderful spot!"

"This was our first visit to Maui and the highlight was driving the Road to Hana. Having done our research, we knew that this wasn’t something we’d want to rush. I approximated our drive over two days with sites to visit along the way (black sand beach, Lindbergh’s grave, rainbow eucalyptus trees, waterfalls, etc.) and determined that this property would be an excellent “half-way” place to stay. Upon booking, I received a friendly response from Terry providing detailed information about how to locate the property, where to stop to gather food for our stay, things to do in the area, etc. to aid in our planning. All instructions were super helpful.We arrived to the property around 6pm, finding that the gate had been left open for us. When we pulled up and honked our horn as instructed, we were greeted by sweet doggo, Star. Terry promptly greeted us and showed us around, pointing out some of the unique features of the property (outdoor shower, tankless water heater, etc.) Owners Terry and Michael have thoughtfully provided many items that could be useful to those traveling, including body boards, beach chairs, towels for use at the beach, etc. The accommodation itself was adequate for our needs- a comfortable bed, a hot shower, kitchen facilities, secure parking, wifi, and privacy. (Caution: mosquitoes and other pests are abundant. It’s the tropics.)Appreciate Terry and Michael’s hospitality. Hoping to tour their property and Michael’s art studio should we return some day. "

"We loved it here. I'm a gardener & therefore adored looking at all the plants. We spent most of our time reading together on the screened-in lanai. I made every excuse to take multiple showers in the outdoor-one: it felt very Brooke-Shields-in-the-Blue-Lagoon (if they'd had a shower--but you know what I mean). Beautiful, evocative touches throughout. The mosquito netting over the bed was somewhat difficult to negotiate, but no biggie. "

"The cottage is truly relaxing. As soon as you walk in you feel a beautiful breeze off the ocean and can see and hear the surf below.The porch is such an easy place to relax: stare out at the ocean, watch the numerous butterflies and birds that live in the meadow or have a drink with a great book.The cottage is very well looked after and is equipped with everything you might need. We loved the location as it was between the town of Hana and the national park.Michelle, the host, was terrific with providing all the information we needed for an enjoyable stay.While visiting, we loved swimming at Hamoa Beach, hiking the Pipiwai Trail and gulch trail, the Hana Highway with its spectacular views and the people/shops of Hana.The cottage is the perfect place to capture the best that Maui has to offer.
